We had transfers, which are always anxious days for the missionaries. Fortunately we are still enjoying our Eternal Companionship and the opportunity to serve together.  We had all of our missionaries "white washed".  For those not used to missionary lingo, that means they all were transferred to another location. Which also means that they pack all of their stuff and move to a new apartment and usually a new city.

One of the blessings for us, is we stay in the same place (thank heavens for apartment leases) and we keep the same companion. Yippee!! That makes us very happy!!

This past week we made 22 home visits.  One of the sisters told us we were like the "medico" (doctor) - only knowing enough Spanish to get us thru a short visit.  This is so true, but we can tell that our visits brighten their spirits and let them know that we love them. They love chocolate chip cookies, they call them "American Cookies".

For Father's Day, the ward had a big barbecue at the Church.  They had the usual food, but the games were quite interesting.  They gave out prizes for the father with the least amount of hair and the father with the biggest belly! That was the first time we'd ever heard of those types of contests.  Still, it was fun for everyone.

We are anxious to see if the Mississippi River has problems here in New Orleans as the flood waters come down stream.  Perhaps we will see the Bonnet Carre Spillway open again.

We love the Lord and love serving together.
