We didn't get our mission call yesterday, so we called Pres. Wynder,
our Stake President. He was very surprised that we hadn't already
received it, so he called Salt Lake. They said that our application
is still in the pool and hadn't been assigned yet. Somebody hit the
wrong buttons on the computer, thus the erroneous notification that it
had been assigned and "it's in the mail".
We understand that two of the senior members of the Missionary
Committee are on summer vacation. The assignment of our mission (as
well as many others) won't be made until they return. - No, we don't
know when that will be. Since the assignment hasn't been made yet,
we don't expect the letter until the end of the month. (at the
earliest)
Pres. Wynder has assured us that when he receives the next email
notification, he will call Salt Lake to confirm that the letter is
being sent and then call us to let us know "it's in the mail".
We will let you know when we hear more, but for right now enjoy the
rest of your summer. We will do the same, so off to Hawaii for sun,
sand and scuba diving we go to celebrate our second anniversary.
We love you all and appreciate your support.
