We have even more news regarding our Mission Call. Our new Mission
President called last night to give us our first assignment. We will
be working in New Orleans and assigned to the New Orleans 2nd Ward.
It's the only Spanish ward in the mission (they also have a spanish
branch in Baton Rouge). Our mission has been changed from English
speaking to Spanish speaking. Our mission call is now to the Baton Rouge
Louisiana - Spanish Speaking.
Needless to say we are both very excited and look forward to having
ten days to learn Spanish! We don't go thru the language training
program like the younger missionaries do in the Missionary Training
Center (MTC). So we will have to learn it on our own with some
telephonic instruction from the MTC.
This is when we are both praying for the gift of tongues. My two
years of junior high Spanish wouldn't be enough to buy food in Mexico,
but at least we'll be in an English speaking country. So at least we'll be able to eat.
