Sunday evening, September 2nd, we had the wonderful experience of being set apart as full time missionaries. Pres. William Wynder set us apart in the Stake High Council Room. Don's parents, Boyd and Dale Lake were able to be there.
I was set apart first and blessed with numerous gifts of the spirit, including the "Gift of Tongues". Yippee!!! What a wonderful experience to know that Heavenly Father was going to bless me with the gift that I knew I needed most to serve Him on this mission.
Don was then set apart and blessed with the "Gift of Faith" and told that his experiences working with people would be a great blessing. He was also blessed that the businesses would do well and that his health would sustain him throughout the mission. He was told to think of different ways to meet people that would be interested in learning the gospel
Later Don told me that his impression was that he was to find creative ways to find the people and that I was supposed to teach them in Spanish. No pressure here!
We were both blessed with the "Gift of Discernment" and told that we would be protected as we traveled to the Mission Field, during our mission and returning from our mission.
We plan to leave for Utah tomorrow and look forward to visiting with Julie, Cass & Melody and their families.
